Session 6: Why democracy?
Democracy is a system of rule based upon power of the people, by the people and for the people. Democracy is the rule where the government is formed by vote of the public, the public has a say in who they want to be their leaders and what expectations they have from their leaders. In case of the leader's failure to work according to the expectation of the public they are answerable to their people that why have they failed them. Democracy is the form of governance where the say of the general public actually matters and is heard by the higher authorities while in many other forms of governance like military the public word is put to death even before it rises. Democracy in reality is very messy than the simple words of the text used to describe it but it is the best option available from the given choices.

Democracy also ensures the safe transfer of power from one party to another but when ever this happens, the opposition always makes hue and cry about rigging.
What if your public is not that educated or you can say not that intellectual that they can understand why a certain decision was made by the people in power and they make them answerable and guilty towards the system. What if they make wrong decisions in choosing the people for their voice because they do not know what criteria they should have in their mind. For instance, what people do in Pakistan with their right to vote.
