I was asked by a student to provide some clarification on certain terms that were used in this session's readings. For those who may be interested, here are the terms along with how I would define them.
- Oligarchy - Rule by a small group.
- Tyranny - Unrepresentative and oppressive rule.
- Monarchy - Rule by a hereditary leader, e.g. Kings or Queens. Very few pure monarchies exist in the world today.
- Aristorcracy - Noble families that belong to an elite class of society. There are very few aristocrats that exist in society today.
