Through a Marxist Lens

Karl Marx according to his superstructure theory states that the ruling class influences the culture in a way that benefits only the powerful individuals of the society. They use the media to impact the political beliefs and values in such a way that brings the individual to think it was in fact their own subconscious notion.

The social culture of Pakistan is a set of various heterogeneous aspects which manifest themselves in the political orientations and resulting actions of the polity. One feels difficulty in defining it and to come up with concrete set of rules due to its diverse orientation of the individuals and society. Pakistan is a multiethnic and multicultural country, which makes it extremely easy for the media to inject the proletariat with preconceived political beliefs that suits the ruling class’ political design.

This can be explained by the Hypodermic Needle Theory, which states that the media instills its messages into the passive audience, which has no choice (even though it might think so) but to believe it as their own intended reality.

Political culture is the product of both the history of a political system and the history of the individuals that make society. Therefore it should be rooted equally in public events and private experiences. However, specifically when it comes to Pakistan the lack of precision and clarity of political information allows the ruling class to invent a political culture that allows them to dominate.
