Assembly; The Role of the House

Assemblies, Parliaments, legislature all primarily the same but have different names because of various functions performed by them. Its a house which when enacts a law is called legislature, when gathers officials for debating, representing purposes, is called assembly. An assembly is linked with the government and all functions performed by the acting government are under the supervision of the assembly.

Government is an authority and holds an upper hand, in taking decisions, implementing laws, dealing state matters and functioning effectively. But still the government has to answer the parliament in order to gain its support. Parliament consists of the functionaries which are considered to be the representative of the people. Because of this every matter which the government deals it has to include the parliament in it and the government should be accountable, for every step it takes. The assembly has the right to question, on behalf of the people and inform the people about every single step which is taken in the country.

An assembly, has the right to form new laws, amend existing ones and then enacting them. These laws are then implemented by the government and the interpreted by the judiciary. Public matters are discused and solutions are found for them. Its the official representation of the people on large forum. Debates are held so that everyone has the right to raise his voice and play his part.

The assembly has different structures including the unicameral and bicameral parts. One is the upper house and second is the lower house. The lower house consists of the people which come through electoral process and the upper house consists of people selected equally from different parts of the country so that no one feels deprived of the right to represent. Though the lower house has more power and is dominant in its functions. In some countries there is only unicameral system and in others there is bicameral.

In a nut shell the assembly is the reflection of people's will and should perform its duties honestly so that the government can work efficiently and the state could prosper.
