The world in the twenty first century encompasses various countries and nations whose foundations narrate an account of their history and illustrate an independent identity for each country.
In addition to symbols, language, colours, music, cuisine, culture and history determining the national identity of a country, the pattern of political systems that have had resided in that country also dominates its identity.
Political system that prevails in a country represents the path that the controlling entity of that country chooses to communicate and cope up with the needs and wants of the citizens of that country. In the past, countries have been classified as the first world, the second world and the third world countries based on some factors and most importantly the political systems they were following. Today the 'three worlds' typology doesn't exist but has been substituted with an another format of classification. The countries are now classified as either developed, developing or under developed countries solely based on the type of political systems they are following and how effectively they are executing the system related responsibilities.
For example United States from the very start has kept a note of its national interests, rigorously preserved it's constitution and effectively worked on maintaining liberty. United States has been established on the principle of self government. United States has successfully earned a position in the world by making itself prominent primarily in the west and then throughout the world by means of its liberal democratic government.
In addition, the real determinant of a country's economic achievements and the pace of the accomplishment of its established goals depends upon the political system followed by that country. China, for example, has achieved great economic development and success owing to its effective political system.
The idea of political systems and the classification of countries on their basis started with Aristotle's basic classification. With time these classifications have been altered and detailed.
