Session 22- War

People often quote that everything is fair in love and war!  Love and war being the two extreme and opposite ends yet sharing such a strong characteristic. This saying is arguable for the former but history has shown that war is not bounded by any rules, and the equation that can be used to legitimize limitless character of war can be that power and freedom has huge costs which are not limited to rules and regulations, hence anything can be justified in war.

However different people have different opinions about whether war is good or bad. On one hand a philanthropist may argue that it has huge negative externalities hence it is not good whereas a political scientist may debate and persuade others that war is essential because it is the survival of the fittest hence it is the cost a nation pays for freedom and power.
In the end it depends on from which side one is viewing the idea of war, if you re sided and allied with the one with power, you will end up in favor of war but on the other hand if you are the losing nation, which has to give up on its freedom and power as a result of war, you will view it as a negative phenomenon.
