Session 23: Another needless intervention

We in Pakistan have been plagued by an enormous amount of problems. From terrorism to poverty to illiteracy we are surrounded by the decisions that went wrong. The ongoing conflict in Yemen provided us with an opportunity to stay away from another needless conflict that would distract our attention from the problems that exist in our home. We stood up against the mighty Saudi's and told them that it was not a conflict we would like to get involved in. The parliament had spoken. All it took for us to change the decision was a visit from the royal family of Saudi Arabia.

We are now actively giving advice on how to conduct the military offensive on Yemen with talks surrounding direct involvement of Pakistani troops. The situation in Yemen is one of immense importance as we found ourselves between two polar powers of the middle east striving to create their respective influence as a regional hegemon. The Iranian government backing the Houthi rebellion and Saudi Arabia backing the government that was deposed.

This issue itself created a menacing scenario in diplomatic terms. Our involvement in this conflict can have great consequences. If we were to side with Saudi Arabia and send troops for a ground offensive, we would put our already shaky relations with our neighbor Iran in jeopardy. At the same time invoking more sectarian violence inside our own lands. On the other hand was our non involvement which would greatly anger the royal family who are busy joining the Muslim countries against a great enemy of the Muslim world in an Islamic war against Muslims.

The choice was simple and we finalized our plans. We would for once act as a mature state and act as mediator in a needless war for power and finally try to be on the right side of history. But we as a Muslim nation with a great sense of nationalism prevail. We will never allow anything to happen to Saudi interest. We are supposed to be Muslims first and Humans later. We shall continue to keep needless conflicts and interests of other nations to be above our own. We are the true Muslims. We shall fight Muslims in Yemen, for the Muslims of Saudi Arabia because Muslims in Yemen are a great threat to the existence of Muslims.
