Session 24: International law

International law is a uniform set of laws that nations agree to follow when dealing among each other. The scope of international law has been defined these days to include dealings of states and individuals and relations between international organizations.

Two main categories are public are private international law. The former is concerned with rights of nations, their citizens or subjects of other nations while the latter deals with controversies among private individuals, natural or juridical, concerning interest of more than one nation.

This concept works as an effort to deal with the conflicts of different states as rules provide order and a unified form of discipline for all nations. However to what extend is international law effective? Although it can be very helpful in resolving greater disputes among different nations, however, complex and poorly harmonized laws can turn out to be increasingly contentious hence making it essential for nations to come up with the most integrated laws possible.

Well I agree with the importance of international laws, but there is an essential aspect that many people overlook , and that is that if the country's parliament doesnt formally accept international laws and treaties then the respective country will not be compelled to follow the international laws.
