Within a century, Women have gotten rights and freedom that were impossible throughout Human history or History of State. Women have gotten right to vote in 1920s, right of property, right to rule and right to get education and do Job. It were never possible in 19th century. No one thought in 18th century but industrial revolution and modernism took concepts of freedom of of women and authority. Was woman captivated? No Capitalist wanted to free and liberal. They knew that by freeing women, they got more labour and can use opposite sex for marketing .
The rise of woman is in reality rise capitalist politics and capitalist offered society and culture which is shaping our life, today. So we relate feminism to capitalism in this way, we can understand our so called modern world in better way.
Despite rights of women is basic necessity which should be given by any state. But we should also understand some aims of capitalists and industrialists who use woman in market for persuading and state are now using them as alternative to power politics. Politics of Gender are now become part of our modern politics which have roots in ancient states coming down to modern states.

I agree with your point that there has been a rise in gender politics along with the rise of capatlism. But there is another side to this argument as well, if some products are using women as marketing device then there are prodcuts which are using men for marketing as well. does that mean they are objectifying men? No.
So it really depends on the target market that which gender you are using for its marketing. If women are being used for marketig then it also means that their needs are being targeted more efficiently now which is an argument in favor of feminism. Hence my point is that both men and women are being used as marketing devices and it does not specifically mean ofjectifying one gender.
It is really a dilemma that women working in advertisements is the objectification of them or it is their freedom? Faseeh you are right but if we see the percentage of women working in Ads then one sees their clear majority.
