Session 23: War
The web of wars that has been woven through history has warned man of the dangers and calamities that war produces. The laws of rationality and human consciousness scream that simultaneous destruction of cities and countries can produce no benefits. Yet, driven by egoistic desires for extending territories. ideologies or destroying enemies, humans still look towards war as a viable option and history has witnessed men mere seconds and a few orders away from mass scale destruction. The leap to cataclysmic end of civilization is not unimaginable with the advent of nuclear destruction giants possessing the capacity to destroy entire nations in the blink of an eye. Such a world war 3 is all too possible with a few countries launching their nuclear weapons, the surrounding nations will be shoved into the war as launch theirs in response. Einstein quoted that World War 4 would be fought with sticks and stones.Should world war 3 occur, the grim fate of such a world war is not unfathomable since nuclear weapons barely leave anything unscathed hence the war would be between irradiated survivors scrambling to obtain fresh food and water unpolluted by effects of radiation an so humans will have gone back to stone-age with nothing but sticks and stones to fight with. Population is the greatest driver of technological progress yet catastrophic wars accompanied by these technologies have the potential to wipe out entire civilizations and leave the accumulated technologies worthless. Einsteins prediction shows us how technology is a doubl=edged sword with the potential to be out salvation as well as to bring about our demise.
