I want to write on the topic that was raised in class about voting behavior of public of Pakistan.Some said that people vote for individual who represents the party others said that people vote on the name of party. Well I think that this behavior varies according to the area or situation.Some people have influence on some certain area so all people of that area support them but some times situation forces the people to change their behavior e.g when Benazir Bhutto was assassinated, people felt sympathy with ppp so majority of them voted for ppp because of sympathy so situation have strong influence among people's behaviour of voting and in case of ppp, the party usually get votes just on the name of Bhutto and Benazir.
On the other hand people caste vote for party instead of person standing, for them the criteria of that person doesn't matter much they just caste vote on the name of certain party as you can see the previous elections, PTI mostly got votes just because of name of party or because of Imran Khan , people were not really aware by the candidates.
So we can say that people of pakistan either vote for the ideolgy or the polices of party or they vote according to certain situation.

Adding to this our voting behavior is very much influenced by the social media and what we see around, as there is no standard process to evaluate the effectiveness of a candidate and communication barrier among the common people and the politicians, urges the people to believe on what is presented to them.
I believe your last statement contradicts your prior statements as the whole issue is that people fail to vote for the ideology of the party and instead base their vote on personal interests.
With that said, however, I think that with Pakistan's electoral process being considered completely democratical and fair but having little fairness in reality, their is not much importance attached to who the people vote for anyway, as major rigging is done by the parties in power to influence the results.
