Session12: Reality of political parties of Pakistan

Pakistan is a developing country and it is politically unstable and we live in the world where everything is possible. Democratically elected government never got the chance to complete its full term till the last government of PPP otherwise it eventually used to result into a long lasting dictatorship reign. In Pakistani politics, there is a clear domination of few families and these few families have never produced any fruitful results. It is stagnant since 70’s and no drastic change has taken place since then. In reality, the chair of head of state has been at war between chief of army staff and few political leaders. You can guess who suffered? Well you guessed it right the nation! If we closely look at the political position of Pakistan one can easily understand that it is based on different ethnic groups. It’s fair to say that current political system is in a dire need of substantial change in comparison to other political parties of leading nations.  As every party represents a particular ethnic group so there is no single party that represents the people of the whole country. This is one of the major reasons of the slow development of the nation by these parties. It has now taken an adverse route as the lay man pursues to struggle in the rut. Parties were supposed to provide stability and coherence to government and should help the government in maintaining law and order but instead they are always involved in different riots going on in the country especially in Balochistan and Karachi. They are only manipulating different groups for their own benefits. The absence of honesty, sincerity and devotion for the people, they should be representing and serving.  Even the youth has now lost hope and faith in the electoral process. Political parties cannot bring change in Pakistan.

Political parties have indeed stagnated any growth in Pakistan. They have brought about chaos and disrupted the running of the country. As long as they continue acting upon their own selfish interests, Pakistan will not be able to progress.
