The technology is growing rapidly, every other day we see
new gadgets with new features. All these developments have eradicated the
distances, people are connected everywhere and all the time. If one thing
happens in one corner of the world, within seconds people thousands miles away people
know about it. Social media participation is increasing rapidly. Individuals,
corporations, governments, all make use of this podium to connect to others. Through
this constant contact, culture is being transferred as well.
Media interaction is one of the major consequence of globalization.
People all over the world watch Hollywood and Bollywood. These are agents of
soft power; the owners of these industries actively use these mediums to spread
their culture, values and ideologies all around the world. For instance, when
America started preaching the principles of capitalism and taking over the
world due to its economic superiority, the heroes in the movies shifted from
being macho, primal, physically strong, good
soldiers to intellectual, corporate, the
hard working businessmen. From Coriolanus to Wall Street.

You've made a very important point. The control of media technologies has thus often been referred to as the 'new form of colonialism', on the flip side though, access to these technologies has lead to exponential increase in awareness among people across the world resulting in changes in the global political dynamics. Such rapid exchange of information, all bad or some good, too? Perhaps something to think about ...
I agree with your stance of how globalization is just another form of preaching of capitalism, and of course this is the reason why our philosophers and intellectuals put so much emphasis on the development of media. This question again leaves so much responsibility on the media of our state because they have the power to influence people and in turn the government, who are right now indulged in whatever the western media is inculcating in them.
Besides that, i think this concept holds a lot of space for open debate and criticism which cannot exactly be put in a single concept.
