In the light of recent events, especially the Peshawar attack, the need of military courts was felt. Pakistani nation and the whole world got behind the decision as one unit, that military should come into action against the assaissins of humanity. Terrorists are considered to be the ultimate predators and the enemies of the state. They should be whipped out and cleared as soon as possible.
Though operation "Zarb e Azb" was already taking place but still military had to intervene into the justice system. Terrorists who were sentenced to death, and where under detention, started getting punishments and were hanged to death after 16/12. But still this act of punishing them was not up to the mark, so under the 21st amendment, military was allowed to set up its courts.
These courts will remain for two years and military will adjudicate the terrorist's cases and try to clean the country from terrorism. Though this act of military courts isn't supported by everyone. Some people think that civilian judges should be given freedom, security and rights, so they can make decisions without pressure and do justice at every condition. On the other hand, people support this act too. They think that military is the only way of dealing terrorists and finishing terrorism. So military should take over the judicial system too so they can make judgements swiftly.
It doesn't matter now that whether these courts should stand or not because now they have been made. The only thing which matters now is that whether these courts will live up to the expectation or not, will they do justice effectively and efficiently..? Will they free country from terrorism..? Will Pakistan get secured after this act or not.

Although a step condemned by many, it is a step that had to be taken to ensure that the terrorists that have been captured, could be rightfully convicted and punished. As it can be seen in history, it has been fairly easy for the terrorist organisation to pressurize the civil courts. However, this won't be the case when the terrorists are brought to trial in a military court. So I would say that the establishment of the military courts in the 21st amendment is an important step towards the eradication of terrorism from the country.
