Session 11: Hazards of no constitution
Constitution is the set of rules and laws which aims
to protect the interest the rights of individuals in the society. It provides guidelines to several institutions
and use a measure to restrict the authority of government.
However, absence of constitutionalism leads to
emergence of dictators, who took the authority in their hands and propagate
their ideologies like Islamization in Zia-ul_haq regime. His rule leads to spread of extremism which is
still harming the Pakistan.
Secondly, constitutions comprises of laws which
protects the interest of minorities. So absences of these laws can results in legitimization
of immoral activities which safeguards the
interest of a particular sect, group or a ruler like Huddod Ordinance, Blasphmy
Law and Ordinance XX which were successfully passed during abrogation of constitution
in 1970s. These laws create catastrophic situation for the minorities especially
for Ahmedis and results in several mob violence and deaths of non-Muslims, the
most prominent ones are Salman Taseer, Shahbaz Bhatti and most recently a Christian
couple was convicted by group of people in charge of blasphemy.
Thus constitution is important in development of stable
governments who is concerned for well-being of the society rather than to
promulgate their interests.

I support your views especially considering how constitution is the highest law of the land. It contains the most important rules of our political system. It protects the right of the people inside a country and it also explains their obligations. It defines the institutions, what there powers are and how they may use them. Everyone in a country should know what their constitution is and what it means to them.
