Session 11: Constitution
Constitution is the set of established proceedings and laid
out fundamental rules in order to govern a state. Constitution basically keeps
in mind the rules and regulations needed to be implemented in a country in
order to benefit maximum people and to ensure rights of most of the country.
Constitution is very important in running a government, it defines the course
of actions the officials are going to take during their time of reign and also
elaborates the ideologies being followed by the leaders. Constitution plays an
important role in building the foundations of a country, to ensure power of the
state, to make a uniform rule benefiting and reaching out to maximum people in
the society, to protect freedom of the state in international community and to
protect rights of the locals on national level, to legitimize the rule of the government
and to give the foundation of government’s course of actions. Constitution
plays an important part in any country’s day to day matters to protecting its
rights in the international community. Constitution gives the locals a sense of
what their rights are and when they can question the rule of their chosen
leaders thus, constitution needs to be formulated in a way to maximize the
stability and harmony in the country.

furthermore, i think a constitution can also be a setback and a legalist obstacle in a scenario where too many rules or too strict procedures actually compromise the efficient functioning of the government and in a scenario where the written document is given priority preference over the people and state.
also, while constitution is important, political culture, i would argue, is equally important because in a scenario where the two conflict, it has been observed in many instances that the constitution is not adhered do despite its presence and legal value.
