At the one hand were the capitalist states as the great USA, and at the other hand were the communist states as USSR. One wonders about their existence. The purpose of the state- to cater to the needs of the economy- is fulfilled by both the systems. Why did these two extremes exist is not the question to ponder upon, the question is why communism was not considered better than capitalism? A mere justification of civil society’s greater role in the state will be its greater efficiency in running the economy. But a detailed insight and a broader perspective will suggest that the profit motive and wealth maximization concepts are not the components of a welfare state. The greed embedded in human nature does not fully express itself in Collectivized States. Thus communist nations’ stance was ignored and civil society’s role began to show up more than ever, where they took the form of Global Organizations.
Their motive -PROFIT MAXIMIZATION -tends to influence the state policies and this is why we are misled by the state!
This claim is too big to make. But I guess the bigger picture to focus upon is that the capitalist leaders that we consider great, that we have high hopes from, that aren't specifically corrupt- tend to make decisions that are against society’s will because of the influence of real decision makers. Therefore it won’t take long until we start giving a second thought towards communism once again. Won’t we?

The reason state policies are mostly moulded by the extreme capitalist policies are not because the system of capitalism is perfect and flawless. Rather, it is so because the faults with communist history are so vast. USSR, the country that aimed at being completely communist in order to enhance fairness and to eliminate all class differences ultimately got sidetracked into becoming a brutal totalitarian state. The inability of a nation to successfully carry out the theory of communism to fulfillment in reality versus the many nations suffering but still persistently being able to carrying out capitalist policies is the reason capitalism prevails.

The point you made regarding greed being embedded in human nature not being fully expressed in collectivized sates is problematic.
Although historians such as Hobbes do argue that human nature is indeed selfish however many counter this point with other theories of co-operation and survival such as Peter Kroptokin.
Therefore, our perception of human nature is the base of which such systems such as capitalism or communism are built upon. If we perceive others and ourselves as selfish we are more likely to adopt a capitalistic economic regime whereas if we follow Peter Kroptokins view of human nature, we are more likely to adopt a communistic approach to the states affairs.
Is the purpose of the state really to cater to the needs of the economy, or is it to cater to the needs of the people? Or is it to cater to the needs of the state itself?
I remain extremely skeptical that communism will ever be revived. Perhaps a new system will emerge or maybe we'll see syncretic models like social democracy take hold.
