An ideology consist of coherent and comprehensive set of
beliefs that aids in explaining and evaluating the social conditions as well as
help the individuals understand their place in the society, along with a
program for social and political action.
When people are characterized to belong to a certain ideology
such as feminists or communists, we are robbing out the scope of their
individuality. In this we forget that every individual is different from other
and consists of its own beliefs and values that greatly differ from others. So
when they are infinite number of beliefs why there are only limited numbers of ideologies?
Most of the times, we label people on just emphasizing on
one of their beliefs. It is not important that everyone follows all the tenants
of an ideology. For example, a feminist would fight for an equal representation
of women at workplace and in public, but at the same time, she might be of view
that the males should control all the government affairs. In such a scenario,
she would not be a true feminist and it will be totally unfair to give her this
label. Therefore, it is imperative for the political ideologies to be more
concerned with the individual beliefs rather than just a group label.
However,a political ideology may be helpful in some facets of human live. These ideologies may assist the people in
understanding the history and evaluating and describing the nations and communities
in the past. With this, people are less likely to repeat the mistakes that
where done in the history. Today, people have access to information and can analyze
the positive and negative impacts of a communist society through Soviet Union
and its past research. These ideologies might categorize us in a certain nation
but again we come across its drawback of not categorizing its citizens
properly.

You have made a valid point in stating that we give different people different labels based on their thoughts on certain issues, and that one person might conform to more than one ideologies at one time or he or she may not completely follow that ideology we associate them with. You have explained your point really well.
