"Man is a social animal". To survive in this world, he has to cooperate with his fellow members and the social contract theory elaborates this concept of coalition.
State of nature can be considered as harmful or beneficial for human beings. To live a comfortable life, man has to do compromises, or to escape from the tyranny of many, he has to accept the rules of some, he has to give some of his freedom willingly in order to enjoy his remaining freedom.
Formation of a society automatically develops some norms which are considered to be macro norms such as "Don't tell lies", they are universally accepted and acknowledged.
With the evolution, man became modernized and a class structure came into existence. Due to this class structure some became powerful and some were deprived from it. In order to maintain a society, thus rules and regulations were being made to protect different classes, otherwise power can reside in just powerful hands. For example, to obey the traffic signal is the duty of all classes, no one can be exempted from it, although people have to compromise as some are in a hurry and they don't want to waste time but law is for the goodness of all the people and social contract theory is mainly for the well being of mankind for the sake of maintaining better survival , housing and other basic needs.

Compromise is a part of our social contract. Without compromise, we would be unable to exist and improve our society.
Cooperation is indeed crucial if we are to survive as a species. This is why social contracts often are viewed as necessary.
Also, I just went ahead and deleted your repeated post.
It is the social contract that sets the norms and values which are internalized by all the individuals. In a way, it can be viewed as a binding factor that holds a society or a community together. Therefore, social contract is necessary even if it requires compromises as it establishes peace and harmony.
Good point.
