Session 3: The Unsolved Dilemma

As we see in the article power is itself an unsolved dilemma that requires a great deal of focus. To come up with a description for the word 'power' is complex due to the fact that a lot of variables are at play when we view the dynamics of the community. To make matters worse most of the research done does not encompass all variables and focuses on a particular community with a hope to generalize the result.

This in turn causes problems because of the wide range of activities that the word power can consume. The world is, in the current age paying more attention to the actual definition of 'power'. This fact was absent in the previous era's as we see many prominent scholars taking it for granted.

The word 'Power' is of vital importance and as such a working definition that can stand universally true is required. The current age gives us with a more optimistic view of finding a more empirical solution to the dilemma and coming up with a definition which can encompass all communities.

Definitional issues relating to power will always be prevalent. It is a contested idea that will remain contested as long as power relationships exist.
