Session: 2 Politics in Today's World

Normally people think that politics is only practiced by the politicians in the government but politics has flourished and invaded every sphere of life. There is hardly any piece of land which is free from politics.
Jawaharlal Nehru wrote in his famous book "Glimpses of World History": "Politicians usually hide their real reasons and talk pompously of religion and justice and truth and the like. And still the great majority of people are taken in by the soft talk of politicians."
There are countries then the governments following and in the end the politicians follow the stream. They give the final verdicts and the country runs accordingly. And it’s true that politicians flourish by using the weak and helpless people. One good example is of Pakistan, we can clearly see that after the independence, our country is run by the powerful families. Like Bhutto and Nawaz families. And if we go in to the details of these families, we can have the view that how these families became well off after coming into power and that’s the only reason that mostly people on our country don’t want to vote during elections. I think that this system should be changed in order to help the poor classes.

Nowadays politics can be seen everywhere within families, friends and organizations in different ways. And I think the main reason behind this about getting the power. There is hunger of power and authority. In organizations individual employees are practicing politics to get in to power same as we can see in the government.  So, I think that everyone is practicing politics to get some benefit.

Politics does appear in so many walks of life. Dynastic politics in particular is problematic.
