"JIRGA" the word when we listen, the first image come to your mind is some Pathans sitting in circle and make decision which is against freedom of woman and basic human rights but i reality this is that image that Media is made in our minds. I know these all things happen but I also disagree with this so called media Propaganda. Jirga is not limited to Pasthun society, it is tradition which has origin found in 5000 years ago.It is common thing in Central Asian states and South Asia, It has different names in different regions for example; in punjab region it is called as "PUNCAITH".
Second thing I agree that Jirgas are weakness of our Judicial System but we should also know that Where Government rite is not exist such as in tribal areas and southern Punjab and rural areas of Sindh it is only way to get Justice Where few elders of each Tribe or Village collectively make decision. I know that Sometimes Jirgas make wrong decisions. The only solution is legitimize these Jirgas by making Laws for conducting Jirgas If Government cannot maintain its rite completely.

I like how you highlight the caricature that the media has created of jirgas. We should be aware of this when we consider it, especially liberal detractors of the jirga system.
Where are you getting the 5,000 year old tradition part though, i.e. can you please provide a source? Generally speaking, your piece makes good points though you should use verifiable evidence to bolster your claims..
