Although democracy is the most desired system but it is not practised everywhere, politics now a days has become a popular term but the cultures regarding politics vary in different communities. In countries like Pakistan perceptions of people are changed easily but still it takes time for people to change their mind .The political culture is translated into the form of government in place , not everyone values freedom, liberty etc.Now a days we can see how Imran Khan directed attention of the people towards politics , it was difficult to change minds of people , it was difficult to build his image in people's mind because the already exiting images of other politicians were not weak but to some extent Imran Khan succeeded.
He basically introduced a new culture in history of politics and that was a difficult task so I think that it took long to make some positive change in culture of politics especially in country like Pakistan.
Political cultures develops differently in different communities many people support monarchies, shariat systems etc so it vary from person to person but it shows the will of people if any culture prevails for long period of time it means that the people there are use to of that system or strongly supports that system.

ReplyDeleteI agree that Imran Khan's political campaigns and 'Dharna' movement has definitely created awareness among the masses and we can see a changed political environment as was before. However, to what extend this change was positive is arguable. Although Imran Khan has successfully been able to inflict the idea among voters that their votes have been misused and PTI's failure was due to rigging by the present PMLN government, there is no factual evidence that the chairman of PTI has been able to provide since the 2013 elections. The little evidence that has been provided can lead to the conclusion that rigging may have occurred in some areas, as this is not something new to Pakistani politics, however whether it is to the same extend as described by PTI spokespeople is questionable without substantial evidence in hand. Therefore, the question whether the change brought by PTI chairman is positive or not remains debatable.
